Hey it's Susan. I hope you're safe, healthy and doing okay.
Did you know . . . at any moment YOU can take control of your mind and change the way you're thinking/? During this Pandemic is the perfect opportunity.
A week ago I had to do something to take control of my mind and change the way I was thinking. It was a time I had to step away from all social media for a few days.
I was feeling anxious, like the 4 walls were closing in on me, worried about my adult children getting the virus, if my business was going to survive the pandemic, etc. etc. I was letting my mind race and think about the negative instead of being grateful for what do I have.
Finally I had to coach myself just like I do my clients. I asked myself . . . whats really behind this worry? Where is this coming from?
And then it hit me! I'd been ignoring self care for myself . . . Yep I wasn't practicing my own steps to a better me.
A) I wasn't eating as well as I should
B) Wasn't getting a restful nights sleep
C) And wasn't practicing my exercise routine.
I was letting this pandemic get the best of me. So I decided it was time for a much needed nap to help calm my nerves. I woke up 3.5 hours later. Whew! What a difference it made for me. I woke up refreshed, my mind was clear of out of control clutter and I was able to move on with my daily routine and not be on edge.
My adult children are healthy and my business is thriving with new clients signing up this week.
I altered the way I looked change (in this case the Virus) and I told myself perception is everything when it comes to situations like these.
Life can bring us many joys, and many challenges.
There are situations that delight us, and circumstances that pain us.
We go through highs, we have lows.
This is the experience of being human.
There are things we can control, and things we can't control.
When life shows up in a painful way, we don't have to like it, we don't have to embrace it, and we definitely don't want it to stay that way.
