Hello, Lovelies!
How in the world did this happen?
At one time I lived by my scale every damn day.
Every morning I would get on it and watch as the numbers went up and down. Up and Down!
Until 2019...something changed in my life. I moved from one house to another, left the corporate world and fulfilled my goal of becoming a Life Coach full time.
Let's just say life got in the way. Which was favorable for me.
So after months of not stepping on the scale imagine my surprise when I did. 153 lbs!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it.
But guess what? I giggled at the numbers and thought it's just a number, Susan. I have freed myself from the scale. My weight doesn't reflect how I feel about my body. It's all in how my mind processes it.
We've been trained to think we must be small and petite and never show your cellulite. HA!
Gone are the days of counting calories, carbs, and fats. Doing those things weren't serving me. Instead, I focus on my priorities. My family, Life Coaching business, and making my mark on the world empowering women to live the life they want.
Am I healthy? Yes.
Am I able to walk, talk, and see all the beauty before me? Yes.
The only person in charge of my mind & my body is ME. The way I look at it is: I was given this body as a gift and it's my job to handle it with care. When it comes to taking care of myself here are a few of my tips.
1. I treat my body with love, respect, and grace instead of hatred and criticism. I know I can't do things I did in my 40's or 20's (jump rope + weak bladder = not good)
2. I shed what is weighing me down mentally and physically with daily affirmations and mindset work.
3. I embrace a morning and evening routine. Brushing teeth, washing face, removing makeup, and applying lip balm (My favorite is one my niece makes with lemon and drops of essential oil).
4. I enjoy Walking, Water Aerobics & Kayaking. I love to mix up my exercise and keep it simple. I've been able to make some major decisions in my life while moving my body.
5. I sleep when my body tells me to . . . going to bed by 9:00 most nights.
Something I remind myself daily is EXERCISE IS NOT PUNISHMENT! I did think that at one time. Not anymore. Our bodies were made to move. I found I didn't need to join a Bootcamp to feel better about myself.
I have shed the scale habit and feel lighter in weight already.
